Meta blocks new US political, election ads in final week before 2026 midterms
META•Meta warns of reporting lag
Meta warned that impression recording can lag by 6-24 hours, raising execution risk for ads launched close to the cutoff.
Existing ads can continue with limited changes
Only ads that served at least one impression before the cutoff can keep running, limiting late-cycle campaign spending flexibility.
During the blackout, eligible ads can only adjust bid, budget or schedule, or be paused or resumed; creative and targeting changes are barred.
Meta sets blackout period before 2026 midterms
