Meta has begun construction on a new data center at Fair Oaks Innovation Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma at a cost of over $1 billion. The facility will cover more than 2 million square feet and represents the company’s first data center in the state.

The Tulsa site is set to generate over 1,000 construction jobs at its peak and roughly 100 permanent operational roles once completed, providing a significant boost to the local workforce.

3. Strategic AI Infrastructure Build-out

This development marks Meta’s 28th facility in the United States and 32nd worldwide as the company races to expand its AI computing capabilities and secure large-scale processing power.

4. Local Resources and Partnerships

Meta will cover all water and wastewater service costs for the site, with Fortis Construction serving as general contractor, while partnering with state officials to leverage reliable, surplus energy from Oklahoma’s grid.
