Meta gains after launch of Muse AI agent
META•Shares rise after Muse AI agent launch
Meta shares gained 5.1% to $645 in premarket trading after the company rolled out its Muse AI agent on Tuesday.
The agent can access other apps to send emails and make payments, despite internal concerns that the technology mismanages its access to sensitive personal data.
Initial availability and analyst backdrop
Meta said the product will initially be available only in the United States via a dedicated Muse app or the company's WhatsApp messaging service.
Fifty-six of 64 brokerages rate the stock buy or higher and eight rate it hold, with a median price target of $750, according to LSEG-compiled data. Up to the previous day's close, the stock was down 7% year to date.
