Meta hires Dreamer founders, sees $25M CDS hedge launch, builds CEO AI agent
Meta Platforms has hired Dreamer’s founding team, including ex-Google and Stripe execs and Hugo Barra, to its Superintelligence Labs without acquiring Dreamer’s technology. JPMorgan launched $25 million credit-default-swap baskets covering Meta’s debt, while CEO Mark Zuckerberg is building a personal AI agent to streamline decision-making.
1. Dreamer Founders Join Superintelligence Labs
Meta has brought onboard the core Dreamer team—co-founded by Hugo Barra and including ex-Stripe CTO David Singleton and designer Nicholas Jitkoff—to its Superintelligence Labs under Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang. The hires will focus on developing personalized, always-on AI agents across Meta’s platforms, although Dreamer’s existing technology remains with its founders.
2. JPMorgan Launches CDS Basket Including Meta
JPMorgan Chase introduced a new credit-default-swap basket covering debt of five hyperscalers, including Meta, trading in $25 million increments with $5 million allocated per firm. This product allows investors to hedge or speculate on the credit risk of companies funding AI infrastructure through heavy borrowing, reflecting growing demand for liquid risk management tools.
3. Zuckerberg Develops Personal AI Agent
CEO Mark Zuckerberg is engineering a dedicated AI agent to help navigate daily workflows and decisions, aiming to bypass administrative layers and boost execution speed. This initiative underscores Meta’s strategy to integrate AI deeply into its operations, potentially accelerating project delivery and enhancing long-term growth prospects.
