METAMETA

Meta Platforms has hired Dreamer’s founding team—including Hugo Barra, David Singleton, and Nicholas Jitkoff—into its Superintelligence Labs under Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang, acquiring a non-exclusive license to Dreamer’s AI agent technology. Dreamer backers will be repaid above their initial investment while the startup remains a separate legal entity.

1. Dreamer Integration and Deal Terms

Meta Platforms has integrated the Dreamer startup team into its Superintelligence Labs under Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang. The arrangement secures a non-exclusive license to Dreamer’s AI agent technology, allows Dreamer to remain an independent legal entity, and ensures backers are repaid above their original investments.

2. Founding Team Credentials

The Dreamer hires include co-founders Hugo Barra, who led Android product management at Google and Meta’s virtual reality division, and David Singleton, former CTO at Stripe and vice president of engineering for Google’s Android. Nicholas Jitkoff, formerly a lead designer for Chrome OS, joins as chief design officer.

3. Reinforcing Meta’s AI Agents Strategy

This hiring follows Meta’s more than $2 billion Manus acquisition in December and the recent Moltbook purchase, underscoring its commitment to AI agents. Meta aims to develop personalized, always-on agents that integrate across apps, surfaces, and wearables to enhance user experiences and engineering productivity.
