Meta has entered a lease agreement with Reliance Industries to operate a 168 MW capacity AI-enabled data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, with options to expand the site. The facility will support Meta’s growing AI workloads in the Indian market and enhance its local infrastructure footprint.
2. EU Orders Restoration of Third-Party AI Access on WhatsApp
The European Commission issued interim measures requiring Meta to reopen its WhatsApp Business API to rival AI chatbots under the same pre-ban terms or face fines up to 10% of global turnover. Meta has announced plans to appeal the decision, calling it excessive and highlighting its concerns over subsidizing competitors.
