1. Meta Commits $750K to Illinois Statehouse Races

Meta has seeded a new super PAC, Making Our Tomorrow, with $750,000 to back four Democratic primary hopefuls for the Illinois House. The committee has already deployed $340,000 in combined ad buys to support Paul Kendrick (12th District), Adam Braun (13th), Aja Kearney (34th) and incumbent Jaime Andrade (40th), allocating roughly $142,000 to Kendrick, $106,000 to Braun, $49,000 to Kearney and $43,000 to Andrade.

2. Regulatory Stakes Drive Strategic Spending

The investment comes as Illinois lawmakers prepare to consider a social media platform tax, a two-year moratorium on data center tax incentives and new limits on algorithms interacting with minors. Meta’s effort aims to influence candidates who champion AI development and defend technology leadership, though several beneficiaries have publicly affirmed support for stricter social media and data center regulations.
