Meta Trials AI Shopping Research Tool and Targets H2 2026 Stablecoin Launch
Meta is testing an AI shopping feature for select U.S. users that displays product images, prices and brand names along with personalized suggestions based on location and inferred preferences. The company plans a stablecoin launch in H2 2026 under new regulatory clarity, cutting cross-border creator payment fees and expanding commerce.
1. AI Shopping Research Tool
Meta is testing a shopping research feature within its AI chatbot on the Meta AI web interface for select U.S. users. It delivers a carousel of product images with brand names, prices, website links and bullet-point explanations, tailored using location and inferred profile preferences.
2. Applied AI Engineering Group
The company formed a new applied AI engineering organization led by Reality Labs VP Maher Saba. Reporting to CTO Andrew Bosworth, the unit will collaborate with the Superintelligence Lab to build data engines, interfaces and tools that accelerate model development and improve training performance.
3. CPU Server Deployments
Meta expanded its data center infrastructure by ordering Nvidia’s largest-ever deployment of Grace CPU-only servers and placing AMD Venice and next-generation Verano CPU server deals. The moves aim to diversify AI workload capacity and reduce reliance on GPU infrastructure for inference and agentic AI applications.
4. Stablecoin Launch Plans
Meta plans to launch a stablecoin with a third-party provider in the second half of 2026, enabled by new regulatory clarity from the GENIUS Act. The stablecoin will target lower cross-border fees for content creators and facilitate on-platform commerce.
