MTVA•MetaVia reported interim Phase 1 data showing DA-1726 reduced liver fat 68% versus placebo. The 16-week study involved otherwise healthy adults with obesity.
MetaVia reported interim Phase 1 results for DA-1726, including a 68% reduction in liver fat versus placebo, weight loss and improved blood sugar control after 16 weeks in otherwise healthy adults with obesity. The results were presented November 4, 2026, at the Precision Liver Symposium.
One serious vomiting event was considered possibly treatment-related; the participant recovered, and no gastrointestinal events caused study discontinuation. MetaVia plans a 48-week Phase 2 trial targeting up to 150 patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated and alcohol-associated liver disease in the second half of 2027. Full Phase 1 Part 3A and Part 3B data are expected in the first quarter of 2027.
