Mexico's America Movil posts 9% rise in Q2 profit

MEXICO CITY, July 21 (Reuters) - Mexican telecoms giant America Movil on Tuesday posted a 9.2% rise in profit for the second quarter, beating analysts' forecasts.
America Movil, controlled by the family of Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, reported a net profit of 24.33 billion pesos ($1.39 billion) from revenues that rose 3.1% from a year earlier to 241 billion pesos ($13.77 billion).
Analysts polled by LSEG had predicted America Movil would post a dollar-denominated net profit of $1.54 billion from revenues of $13.73 billion.
