Mexico's inflation picks up more than expected in early September
EWW•Mexico's annual inflation rate rose to 3.42% in the first half of September from 3.26% a month earlier, above economists' 3.37% forecast. Core inflation eased to 3.79% from 3.93%.

Mexico's 12-month inflation rate accelerated to 3.42% in the first half of September, up from 3.26% a month earlier and above economists' 3.37% forecast, data from INEGI showed.
2. Core prices ease
Core inflation, which excludes some volatile food and energy prices, slowed to 3.79% from 3.93% in the first half of August, slightly below economists' 3.81% expectation. Annual core inflation was within the Bank of Mexico's target range of 3%, plus or minus one percentage point. Consumer prices rose 0.33% in the first half of September, while core prices increased 0.17%.
