MGM Resorts and BetMGM have pledged over $1 million to responsible gaming initiatives, allocating $450,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming for a three-year sports wagering research. They are also directing more than $850,000 to state and national gambling prevention and treatment organizations.

1. Commitment Overview

On February 26, MGM Resorts International and BetMGM announced a combined commitment exceeding $1 million toward strengthening responsible gaming measures during Problem Gambling Awareness Month, signaling heightened corporate focus on player protection and industry sustainability.

2. Research Funding

The companies have dedicated $450,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming to sponsor a groundbreaking three-year sports wagering study examining decision-making and risk patterns, aimed at establishing best practices for long-term responsible gaming.

3. Community Partnerships

In addition to research funding, more than $850,000 will be allocated to state and national organizations focused on gambling prevention and treatment, including continued sponsorship of the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling Conference and expanded employee training sessions.

4. Program Expansion and Campaigns

MGM and BetMGM will scale their GameSense program to over 2,000 certified advisors, embed responsible play messaging in MGM Rewards and the BetMGM app, and launch new campaigns such as “Earn More. Play Smart.” alongside a hockey-themed responsible gaming commercial.
