Microchip signed a definitive agreement to acquire edge AI processor maker Hailo; financial terms were not disclosed.
Closing is expected near the end of the quarter ending Sept. 30, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
Deal expands intelligent-edge lineup
The deal expands Microchip’s intelligent-edge processing lineup with Hailo’s AI accelerators and vision SoCs, including Hailo-8, Hailo-10, and Hailo-15.
Hailo brings more than 100 customers and a developer community of more than 10,000 users.
Microchip expects no material impact on its financial results from the transaction.
