Microchip Unveils AEC-Q100 Grade 2 Hybrid MCU SiP With 512Mbit DDR2 Priced $9.12

MCHPMCHP

Microchip’s AEC-Q100 Grade 2 SAM9X75D5M hybrid MCU integrates an Arm926EJ-S processor and 512 Mbit DDR2 SDRAM to drive automotive HMIs up to 10-inch XGA. The SiP reduces PCB complexity, cuts discrete memory procurement risk and offers CAN FD, USB, Gigabit Ethernet, MIPI DSI and LVDS connectivity at $9.12 in 5 000-unit quantities.

1. Product Launch

Microchip has introduced the AEC-Q100 Grade 2-qualified SAM9X75D5M hybrid MCU SiP tailored for automotive and e-mobility HMI applications, combining MPU processing with MCU development environment in a single package.

2. Technical Features

The SAM9X75D5M integrates an Arm926EJ-S core with 512 Mbit DDR2 SDRAM, supports up to 10-inch XGA (1024 × 768) displays, and offers multiple interface options including MIPI DSI, LVDS, RGB, CAN FD, USB, Gigabit Ethernet and TSN.

3. Supply Chain and Development Tools

By embedding DDR2 memory in-package, the SiP simplifies PCB layouts, mitigates discrete DRAM supply volatility, and ensures long-term availability. Development is supported by MPLAB X IDE, Harmony, FreeRTOS, Eclipse ThreadX, Crank, LVGL, Altia and other graphics frameworks.

4. Pricing and Availability

The SAM9X75D5M SiP (SAM9X75D5M-V/4TBVAO) is available now at $9.12 each in 5 000-unit orders. Larger 1 Gbit and 2 Gbit variants are sampling, with direct sales through Microchip and authorized distributors.
