Microchip Unveils TS1800 and TS50x Controllers with PQC and 192 MHz Core
Microchip introduced its TS1800 Platform Root of Trust controller and TS50x secure boot controller, integrating hardware-accelerated post-quantum cryptography algorithms and a 192 MHz Arm® Cortex-M4F core to double performance over prior generations. Both devices support CRA, CNSA 2.0 and NIST SP 800-193 guidelines and are available to early adopters.
1. Portfolio Expansion
Microchip has expanded its Trust Shield lineup with the TS1800 Platform Root of Trust controller and TS50x secure boot controller to address emerging cybersecurity mandates such as the European Cyber Resilience Act and CNSA 2.0 across data center, defense, telecom and infrastructure applications.
2. TS1800 Key Features
The TS1800 IC delivers secure boot, firmware updates and attestation with hardware-accelerated post-quantum cryptography algorithms (ML-DSA, LMS, ML-KEM) on an Arm® Cortex-M4F core clocked at up to 192 MHz, offering twice the performance of prior generations and USB 2.0 support for faster firmware updates.
3. TS50x Features and Availability
The TS50x family focuses on PQC and Elliptic Curve Cryptography P-384 secure boot for SPI flash, holding the chipset in reset until signature verification succeeds; both controllers are available now through Microchip’s early adopter program as modular, drop-in crypto-solutions.
