Micropolis Secures $9.3M UGV Development Deal and 3-Year Africa Distribution

Micropolis Robotics has secured a $9.3 million contract to develop three custom UGV platforms over an 18-month period for police, agricultural, and border security applications tailored to African environments. The deal includes a three-year exclusive distribution partnership with AfricAI covering ECOWAS, South Africa, DRC, and Tanzania, expanding Micropolis' market footprint.

1. Contract Details

Micropolis will design, develop, test and validate three new unmanned ground vehicle platforms under an 18-month, $9.3 million development program. The custom models will serve police and public safety, agricultural automation, and border surveillance missions, featuring off-road mobility, high-temperature performance and AI-enabled situational awareness.

2. Distribution Partnership

AfricAI’s subsidiary, AfricaAI Technology FZ LLC, will hold exclusive distribution rights for Micropolis’ existing M-Patrol models and the newly developed UGVs across ECOWAS countries, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania. The three-year agreement covers purchase, marketing and regional support for autonomous vehicle platforms.

3. Strategic Expansion

The combined development and distribution framework positions Micropolis to significantly expand its commercial footprint in high-growth African markets and accelerate adoption of AI-driven robotic solutions. CEO Fareed Aljawhari highlights that localized support and strategic partnerships will drive international revenue and enhance regional autonomy capabilities.
