Microsoft Debuts AI-Driven Surface Pro and Laptop with Intel, Snapdragon Options
Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro for Business and Surface Laptop for Business powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors on the 18A node and planned Snapdragon X2 variants. Both models support on-device AI processing to offload cloud workloads and bolster the company’s enterprise hardware offerings.
1. New Surface Lineup for Businesses
Microsoft introduced two new models—the Surface Pro for Business and Surface Laptop for Business—targeting enterprise customers. Both are configured with enhanced build quality and business-class features such as enterprise-grade security and expanded management tools.
2. AI Processing on Device
The devices launch with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips built on the 18A process node plus upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 options. This hardware enables AI workloads to run natively, reducing reliance on cloud infrastructure for routine machine-learning tasks.
3. Strategic Hardware Positioning
By embedding AI capabilities directly in its Surface line, Microsoft aims to differentiate its hardware portfolio and drive refresh cycles among corporate IT buyers. The move aligns the Surface business more closely with the company’s broader AI strategy and could modestly boost hardware revenue.
