Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon and Meta will report first-quarter results Wednesday, joined by Apple on Thursday, in a cohort whose combined market capitalization approaches $16 trillion. This Magnificent Seven group has driven a 13% S&P 500 rally over four weeks and is projected to deliver 19% earnings growth.

1. Earnings Schedule and Participants

On Wednesday, Microsoft will join Alphabet, Amazon and Meta in reporting first-quarter results, with Apple scheduled to announce its earnings the following day. These five companies alone represent roughly a quarter of the S&P 500’s market capitalization.

2. Rally Fueled by Magnificent Seven

The so-called Magnificent Seven cohort has powered a four-week, 13% surge in the S&P 500 since March 30, with shares of Alphabet, Amazon, Nvidia and Meta each up more than 25% over that period. Strong earnings momentum has attracted investors after earlier concerns over AI spending.

3. Projected Growth and Geopolitical Risks

The group is forecast to post 19% first-quarter earnings growth compared with 12% for the rest of the index, offering a compelling valuation amid elevated inflation risks. However, tensions in the Middle East have driven oil prices higher, posing potential headwinds for margin expansion.
