MSFTMSFT

Germany aims to double AI data centre capacity by 2030 using tax incentives and faster approvals, a move likely to benefit Microsoft as a top infrastructure investor. Microsoft also rolled out a new $99 Copilot enterprise tier—65% above its previous top plan—and added Zenity’s runtime security to its Foundry platform.

1. Germany’s AI Data Centre Expansion Plan

Germany’s digital ministry plans to at least double domestic AI data centre capacity—which stood at 530MW at the end of last year—by 2030. Measures include dedicating land for new centres, redirecting municipal business taxes to host cities, speeding up regulatory approvals and encouraging collaboration among European providers.

2. Microsoft’s New $99 Copilot Enterprise Tier

Microsoft has raised its top enterprise Copilot tier price by 65% to $99 per user per month, reflecting a high-stakes push to monetize AI offerings and offset rising infrastructure spending. The new tier delivers advanced features, increased compute allocation and higher service-level guarantees.

3. Zenity Partnership Enhances Foundry Security

In partnership with Zenity, Microsoft integrated inline agent runtime security controls into its Foundry platform to secure AI agents during execution. This collaboration highlights Microsoft’s focus on bolstering its AI ecosystem with enterprise-grade security and compliance solutions.
