Microsoft Secures $40B Nebius AI Contracts and Invests $1B in Thailand Cloud
Microsoft has secured over $40bn in supply contracts with Nebius Group as it builds a 310MW, $10bn AI data centre in Finland primed to come online from 2027. The company also plans to invest more than $1bn in Thailand toward cloud and AI infrastructure to expand regional capacity.
1. Partnership with Nebius Group
Microsoft has entered into supply agreements worth over $40bn with Nebius Group to support the build-out of a 310MW data centre in Lappeenranta, Finland. Valued at more than $10bn, the facility will come online in phases from 2027 and will be used to train AI models and run applications without client exclusivity, boosting Microsoft’s AI computing power in Europe.
2. Thailand Cloud and AI Expansion
Microsoft will invest over $1bn to develop cloud and AI infrastructure in Thailand, aiming to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia. The investment will fund new data centre capacity and networking upgrades to meet rising demand for Azure services and support local enterprise digital transformation.
