Microvast, Iveco Group Expand Partnership with MV-I Gen2 Batteries and 3.2 GWh Huzhou Capacity

MVSTMVST

Microvast and Iveco Group have expanded their partnership with the MV-I Gen2 battery pack, now powering full Iveco BUS and S-eWay Rigid heavy-duty truck platforms in Europe. Microvast’s upcoming Huzhou plant adds 3.2 GWh capacity and will co-develop next-generation battery systems for European commercial fleets.

1. Partnership History

Microvast and Iveco Group began collaborating in 2017 on the IVECO eDaily project, using VDA modules and 52 Ah cells to power early electric vans. This initial deployment established a reliable framework for expanding sustainable transportation solutions across Europe.

2. MV-I Gen2 Deployment

In 2023, the companies rolled out the MV-I Gen 2 battery pack, now powering the full IVECO BUS line and IVECO S-eWay Rigid heavy-duty trucks. These packs are assembled at the FPT ePowertrain plant in Turin and offer enhanced scalability, performance and reliability.

3. Huzhou Plant Capacity

Microvast’s new Huzhou facility will add 3.2 GWh of annual battery production capacity when it comes online. This expansion is expected to accelerate delivery timelines and support growing demand for electrified commercial fleets in Europe.

4. Future Development

Microvast will co-develop next-generation battery systems with Iveco to boost performance and efficiency in upcoming commercial vehicle platforms. This planned R&D collaboration aims to establish new benchmarks in zero-emission transport for fleet operators.
