Minerals Technologies publishes transcript of Q2 2026 earnings call
MTX•Third-quarter outlook
For Q3, management guided to:
- sales of about $550 million
- operating income of about $75 million
- EPS of $1.55-$1.60
Both segments were seen up 3%-5% year over year.
Cost inflation and pricing
CFO flagged $16 million of cost inflation in Q2. Consumer & Specialties pricing lag left it about 90 days from catching up, with margin recovery expected in Q4.
BMI OldCo Chapter 11 charge
Management recorded a $290 million charge tied to the BMI OldCo Chapter 11 plan. Cases were abated pending a district court talc causation proceeding.
