Minerals Technologies Q2 FY26 adjusted operating income falls 6% to $75 million; sales rise 4% to $548 million

Consumer & Specialties sales slipped 1% to $275 million, while operating income dropped 14% to $29.3 million on higher costs and contractual price lag.
Third-quarter outlook
For Q3, the company guided to about $550 million in sales and about $75 million in operating income, with EPS of $1.55-$1.60.
Second-quarter results
Minerals Technologies Q2 2026 sales rose 4% to $548 million, while operating income fell 6% to $75 million and operating margin narrowed 1.3 percentage points to 13.6%.
Diluted EPS excluding special items increased to $1.60, while GAAP net loss attributable to shareholders widened to $183.6 million on a $290 million litigation reserve.
