MongoDB has committed €74 million to deepen its engineering and AI development capabilities in Ireland, establishing a new office in Cork alongside its Dublin international headquarters. This expansion underscores the company’s focus on scaling its unified data platform for modern, multi-cloud and AI applications.
2. Workforce Growth
The investment will create approximately 200 new roles by 2027 across engineering, product development, and customer-facing teams, growing the Irish headcount by more than 50% to over 500 employees. These hires are aimed at bolstering technical and support functions to meet rising global demand.
3. AI Production Support
Local teams will help MongoDB’s 65,200+ customers transition AI projects from experimentation to production at scale, leveraging secure, real-time data retrieval and analytics capabilities. The expansion is designed to address the complexity of real-world AI applications and ensure high-accuracy performance.
4. Strategic Localization
The Ireland hub’s growth aligns with evolving EU data protection and AI regulations, strengthening university partnerships and talent development. By enhancing its regional footprint, MongoDB aims to reinforce compliance with the EU AI Act and consolidate its position as a leader in applied AI innovation.
