Motorola Solutions to Invest $100M in 165K Sq Ft Utah Manufacturing Facility
Motorola Solutions is launching a $100 million plan to expand Silvus Technologies manufacturing with a new 165,000 square-foot Salt Lake City facility. The project will create 200 roles and boost StreamCaster MANET radio production for defense, law enforcement and public safety communications.
1. Expansion Plan and Investment
Motorola Solutions has committed $100 million to scale and diversify Silvus Technologies manufacturing by building a 165,000 square-foot facility in Salt Lake City. This purpose-built site will serve as a high-volume production hub for advanced tactical networking products.
2. Job Creation and Production Scaling
The new facility is expected to generate 200 positions across manufacturing and supply chain operations. Increased capacity will accelerate output of mission-critical StreamCaster MANET radios for defense, law enforcement and public safety sectors.
3. Strategic Selection of Utah
The initiative is backed by the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Utah Inland Port Authority. Utah’s robust technology ecosystem and skilled workforce underpin its selection as a premier aerospace and defense manufacturing location.
4. Integration with Global Operations
The Salt Lake City team will integrate into Motorola Solutions’ 23,000-strong global workforce focused on mission-critical communications and electromagnetic spectrum operations, reinforcing the company’s defense and public safety offerings.
