Muted opening
VGK•European indexes opened mixed on Monday, with the STOXX 600 up just under 0.1%, the CAC 40 down 0.9% and the DAX slightly lower. Schneider Electric fell 8.7% after agreeing to buy PTC for $22.6 billion.
1. European markets mixed
The STOXX 600 rose just under 0.1% on Monday, while the FTSE was near unchanged and the DAX was slightly lower. France’s CAC 40 fell 0.9%, with Schneider Electric down 8.7% after agreeing to a $22.6 billion deal to buy PTC; Hermes lost 2% after Goldman Sachs initiated coverage with a sell rating. Spain’s IBEX rose 0.1% after Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez called an early election for November 29.
