Namibia Critical Metals Launches 13,000m Drill Campaign Including 800m Deep Hole
NCMI•Namibia Critical Metals initiated an 83-hole, 13,000-meter reverse circulation drill program at Lofdal, targeting a maiden Area 5 resource and an 800-meter deep extension at Area 4. Two rigs will infill and expand resources at Areas 2B and 4 over five months while hosting Toyota-Tsusho and JOGMEC executives onsite.
1. Program Commencement
The 2026 drilling campaign at the Lofdal heavy rare earths project began on June 3 with two rigs set to complete 83 reverse circulation holes totaling 13,000 meters over five months. The program combines resource infill and systematic exploration across multiple zones to accelerate project development.
2. Drilling Objectives and Scope
Drilling aims include defining a maiden resource for the 1.5 km xenotime system at Area 5, extending Area 4 mineralization to a vertical depth of 800 meters for underground studies, and boosting Measured and Indicated categories at Areas 2B and 4. Core drilling will test deep targets while reverse circulation holes upgrade and expand near-surface resources.
3. Partner Site Visit
Senior executives from Toyota-Tsusho and JOGMEC toured the Lofdal site during the program kickoff, engaging with Namibian government officials and local communities. The visit underscores partner support and strengthens stakeholder relations ahead of upcoming resource milestones.
