Nano Nuclear subsidiary STS supports cesium-137 removal in Brazil
NNE•Nano Nuclear subsidiary Secured Transportation Services supported the September 2 removal of a cesium-137 source from HEMOAM in Manaus, Brazil. It was the eighth source removal in Brazil under the NNSA program since 2023.
1. Source removal operation
Secured Transportation Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nano Nuclear, served as lead subcontractor for the operation, which Y-12 managed for the National Nuclear Security Administration. HEMOAM transitioned to X-ray blood irradiation, preserving its medical capabilities without relying on the high-activity radioactive source.
