NatWest’s June 2026 UK Regional Growth Tracker signaled subdued business activity across most regions, with output growth limited to London, the South East and the North East.
- Business Activity Index readings: London 54.1; South East 50.9; North East 50.8; weakest Northern Ireland 43.9; Yorkshire & Humber 45.5.
- Cost pressures eased across all regions in June, with slower rises in prices charged; Wales was the only area where output price inflation was unchanged.
- New business increased only in London and the North East; Northern Ireland recorded the steepest decline in new work.
- Employment fell in most regions, while Scotland posted a marginal increase; all 12 regions saw backlogs drop, pointing to weaker capacity pressures.
