Nebius Closes $643M Eigen AI Acquisition, Expands Inference Capabilities and Bay Area Presence
NBIS•Nebius completed its $643 million acquisition of Eigen AI using cash and Class A shares. Eigen AI's inference optimization stack will be integrated into Nebius Token Factory across models such as Llama, Qwen and Gemma while adding a Bay Area engineering presence.
1. Acquisition Completion and Terms
Nebius finalized the $643 million transaction to acquire Eigen AI after receiving regulatory approval. The deal consideration combined cash and Class A shares based on the 30-day weighted average share price at signing.
2. Technical Integration into Token Factory
Eigen AI's inference optimization stack will be integrated into Nebius Token Factory to enhance production AI workloads. The platform will now support post-training, fine-tuning, and inference across open-source models such as Llama, DeepSeek, Qwen, and Gemma, delivering top-tier performance benchmarks.
3. Strategic Expansion and Market Impact
The acquisition establishes Nebius’s first Bay Area engineering presence and brings MIT HAN Lab expertise in Sparse Attention and weight quantization. Nebius forecasts inference workloads to represent roughly two-thirds of AI compute demand this year, strengthening its position in global AI infrastructure.
