Needham Sees $5B-$10B Nvidia Project Boosting Cisco; Lawsuit Dismissed
CSCO•Needham forecasts Nvidia’s planned $5 billion to $10 billion long-haul telecom network project over three years could drive significant infrastructure orders at Cisco as a key networking equipment provider. The US Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision to dismiss the Falun Gong lawsuit removes a legal overhang for Cisco.
1. Nvidia’s $5B-$10B Long-Haul Network Project
Needham projects Nvidia will invest between $5 billion and $10 billion over the next three years to build a long-haul telecom network, aiming to reduce hyperscaler dependence. Cisco is identified as a likely beneficiary, expected to compete for networking switches, routers and infrastructure services alongside Ciena, Nokia and others.
2. Supreme Court Dismisses Falun Gong Lawsuit
The US Supreme Court voted 6-3 to dismiss claims under the Alien Tort Statute that alleged Cisco facilitated China’s persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The ruling eliminates a major legal uncertainty and potential damages exposure for Cisco, enhancing its risk profile.
