NetApp acquires VMware disaster recovery firm JetStream Software

NetApp agreed to acquire JetStream Software, a provider of VMware disaster recovery and migration tools.

The deal aims to expand cyber resilience and data protection, targeting enterprises running VMware as they shift workloads to the cloud.

JetStream technology is set to enable protection of VMware environments on third-party storage, with recovery onto NetApp offerings such as Azure NetApp Files.

JetStream is expected to complement SnapMirror, extending NetApp’s reach beyond its installed base to a broader VMware footprint.
