Netlist seeks U.S. import ban on Micron chips used in Google, Nvidia AI computing
NLST•Netlist filed a complaint with a U.S. trade tribunal seeking to block imports of Micron memory chips and products from Google, Nvidia and Broadcom that it says infringe two patents. Netlist previously won a $445 million patent verdict against Micron in 2024.
1. Import ban sought
Netlist said it filed a complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission seeking to bar imports of Micron DRAM devices and Google, Nvidia and Broadcom products that incorporate the chips. The company alleges the chips and products infringe two of its patents covering high-bandwidth memory technology.
2. Prior patent disputes
Netlist won a $445 million patent infringement verdict against Micron in a Texas federal court in 2024. It filed another trade tribunal complaint against Micron in August over chips used in products from Super Micro Computer, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Lenovo, and settled a separate dispute with Samsung that month after winning $421 million in patent verdicts.
