Neurocrine launches Phase 1 trial of NBIP-1968 triple-agonist obesity drug
NBIX•Phase 1 trial begins for NBIP-1968
Neurocrine began a Phase 1 first-in-human study of NBIP-1968, a long-acting GLP-1/GIP/glucagon receptor triple agonist for obesity.
Initial Phase 1 work tests single ascending doses in adults across BMI categories, including overweight and obese, focusing on safety and tolerability.
Program targets weekly dosing and combination use
The program targets once-weekly subcutaneous dosing and is designed with balanced glucagon activity to improve metabolic benefit while supporting tolerability.
NBIP-1968 is intended for fixed-dose combination with NBIP-2118, a separate obesity candidate already in Phase 1 development.
