Newmark Hires Veteran Banker to Lead $94T Infrastructure Capital Markets Push

Newmark Group has appointed Philip O’Bannon, a former Citigroup banker with over 20 years’ experience, as Senior Managing Director to lead its Infrastructure Capital Markets business, overseeing data center, power, utilities and energy transition advisory. The move targets the estimated $94 trillion infrastructure investment opportunity through 2040.

Newmark has named Philip O’Bannon as Senior Managing Director to oversee its Infrastructure Capital Markets business. He will report to Andrew Warin, Head of Strategic Advisory, and collaborate closely with the Debt & Structured Finance and Data Center Capital Markets teams.

2. Infrastructure Capital Markets Strategy

The newly formed unit will expand advisory and capital‐raising services across data centers, power and utilities, energy transition and other large‐scale infrastructure sectors. Newmark is positioning itself to capture part of the projected $94 trillion global infrastructure investment through 2040.

3. Leadership Credentials and Experience

O’Bannon brings over two decades of investment banking and engineering experience, including seven years at Citigroup advising on more than $50 billion in energy and infrastructure transactions. He began his career leading mechanical engineering efforts at Lockheed Martin, providing deep technical insight into complex infrastructure deals.
