The ranking derives from a rigorous nine-month survey of more than 24,500 validated users across the United States. In Black Book’s annual benchmarking study released January 14, 2026, NextGen Healthcare achieved the #1 overall user ranking in a field of over 400 practice management vendors, earning a mean satisfaction score of 9.43 out of 10. The company led across 18 key performance indicators (KPIs), including implementation efficiency, scalability, system uptime, return on investment and embedded AI automation in clinician workflows. Of those benchmarks, NextGen claimed the top spot in 10 distinct categories—such as seamless data integration, customizable reporting dashboards and automated appointment reminders—underscoring its strategic focus on delivering measurable operational improvements and cost savings for physician practices.
