NioCorp Begins Underground Access Construction After Completing Elk Creek Drilling on Budget
NioCorp Developments completed its first Elk Creek drilling program in August 2025 on schedule and within budget and began constructing main underground access in February 2026. These milestones advance the Elk Creek Critical Minerals Project in southeast Nebraska toward production and could unlock key rare earth elements and materials.
1. Drilling Program Completion
In August 2025, NioCorp Developments completed its inaugural drilling program at the Elk Creek Critical Minerals Project in southeast Nebraska. The program met all targets on schedule and within budget, validating ore body continuity and structural assumptions for rare earth and critical metal deposits.
2. Underground Access Construction
In February 2026, NioCorp commenced construction of the main underground access ramp at Elk Creek, marking the transition from exploration to pre-development. This access will facilitate deeper core drilling, geotechnical studies and future mine development activities.
3. Project Advancement Toward Production
With drilling and access ramp milestones achieved, Elk Creek moves closer to commercial production stages. NioCorp aims to finalize detailed mine plans, secure permits and pursue off‐take agreements for rare earth elements and associated critical materials.
