Bars rose 1.3% year-on-year, while nightclubs fell 36.1% and late-night bars dropped 23.9% since March 2020.
NIQ trading data showed sales share after 7 p.m. fell 1.4 percentage points year-on-year, with takings shifting to 5–7 p.m.
Regional divergence persisted: North East down 10.5% since 2020 versus 14.3% nationally; Greater London down 15.5%.
