- 36% of leaders reported year-on-year revenue declines in the latest quarter; 34% reported lower profits.
- Cost concerns centered on food and drink prices (82%) plus employment costs (75%); tax worries included VAT (73%) and rates (67%).
- Survey responses came from senior executives overseeing more than 15,000 sites; research was conducted in May and early June 2026.
