TMC•NOAA begins environmental review of TMC USA-B application
NOAA opened an Environmental Impact Statement review for a deep-sea exploration license sought by TMC USA under the Deep Seabed Hard Mineral Resources Act.
The USA-B application covers about 122,000 sq km in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone with an estimated 1.02 billion tonnes of polymetallic nodules.
NOAA will publish a draft EIS and draft operating restrictions for public comment before deciding whether to issue the license.
