Nokia, ICEYE partner with Ukraine's Defence Ministry on sovereign satellite communications

Nokia and ICEYE signed a letter of intent with Ukraine's Defence Ministry on October 22, 2026, to explore cooperation on sovereign satellite communications.

1. Satellite communications initiative

The initiative aims to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities through satellite connectivity under its control. Earlier this month, Nokia and ICEYE announced plans for secure low Earth orbit broadband systems that would give governments ownership of satellites, ground infrastructure and terminals.
