NorthWestern Energy Q3 adjusted EPS misses on Colstrip acquisition costs
NWE•NorthWestern Energy reported Q3 adjusted EPS of $0.58, below the $0.73 analyst estimate, while revenue of $423.8 million topped the $412.47 million estimate. It affirmed 2026 adjusted EPS guidance of $3.68-$3.83 per diluted share.
1. Quarterly results
NorthWestern Energy’s Q3 adjusted EPS fell short of analyst expectations, while revenue rose and beat estimates. The company reported adjusted EPS of $0.58, revenue of $423.8 million, net income of $30.7 million and operating expenses of $349.1 million.
2. Costs and outlook
The company cited higher operating losses from additional ownership in Colstrip Units 3 and 4, as well as increased electric generation maintenance, depreciation and property taxes. Lower merger-related expenses partly offset the higher costs. NorthWestern affirmed 2026 non-GAAP EPS guidance of $3.68-$3.83 per diluted share, its 4%-6% long-term EPS growth target from a 2024 base year and a $3.2 billion capital investment plan for 2026-2030.
