Novartis remibrutinib delivered comprehensive disease control in Phase III RMS trials
NVS•Novartis said remibrutinib cut annualized relapse rates by 35.2% and 31.2% versus teriflunomide in the REMODEL-1 and REMODEL-2 trials. More than 92% of patients remained free from disease progression at six months, and the trials reported no liver safety signal, including no Hy’s law cases.
1. Trial results
Novartis reported that remibrutinib significantly reduced relapses and MRI disease activity versus teriflunomide in two Phase III trials in relapsing multiple sclerosis. Annualized relapse rates fell by 35.2% in REMODEL-1 and 31.2% in REMODEL-2.
2. Safety and progression
More than 92% of remibrutinib patients remained free from disease progression as assessed by six-month confirmed disability progression. The company said remibrutinib demonstrated no liver safety signal, including no Hy’s law cases, and was superior to teriflunomide on all key secondary endpoints in each trial.
