Novo says Ozempic cuts risk of major cardiovascular events
NVO•Novo Nordisk said Ozempic (semaglutide) 2 mg was associated with a lower risk of major cardiovascular events than switching to Mounjaro in a real-world analysis. Semaglutide dose escalation was linked to a 6% lower risk.
1. Real-world analysis
Novo said Ozempic (semaglutide) 2 mg was associated with a lower risk of major adverse cardiovascular events, defined as death, heart attack and stroke, in adults with type 2 diabetes compared with switching to Mounjaro (tirzepatide). The real-world analysis was presented at EASD.
2. Dose escalation
Semaglutide 2 mg dose escalation was linked to a 6% lower risk of major cardiovascular events.
