Nuburu Activates Phase I U.S. Defense Manufacturing at 90,000 sq ft Houston Plant

BURUBURU

Nuburu has activated Phase I of its joint venture with Maddox Defense, deploying system integration teams and climate-controlled mobile additive manufacturing units at Maddox’s 90,000 sq ft Houston facility with 2,000 kW power capacity. The move establishes U.S.-based drone and mission-critical component production to target government and allied contracts.

1. Joint Venture Activation

Nuburu and Maddox Defense have commenced Phase I execution of their joint venture, transitioning from planning to operational deployment. Teams are on-site in Houston initiating system integration, procurement coordination and facility readiness to enable defense manufacturing capabilities under the new partnership.

2. Operational Infrastructure Details

The Houston facility spans 90,000 square feet of manufacturing space with 12,000 square feet of offices and 2,000 kW of power capacity. Core to Phase I is a climate-controlled mobile additive manufacturing container platform designed for rapid, decentralized production of drones and mission-critical components.

3. Strategic Implications

Establishing a U.S.-based defense manufacturing footprint positions Nuburu to pursue government and allied contracts in counter-UAS and tactical unmanned systems. This capability aligns with rising global demand for scalable, near-point-of-need production to strengthen supply-chain resilience and accelerate deployment timelines.
