NuCana Appoints Ian Webster CFO; Cash Runway into 2029, 2026 Phase 2 Melanoma Data
NCNA•NuCana appointed Ian Webster as Chief Financial Officer effective June 1, 2026, after serving as interim CFO since June 2025 and as Director of Finance since 2019, bringing more than 20 years of biopharma financial leadership. Webster will oversee strategy for 2026 Phase 2 NuTide:701 melanoma data readouts on NUC-7738 plus pembrolizumab and manage a cash runway extending into 2029.

On June 1, 2026, NuCana elevated Ian Webster from Interim CFO to permanent Chief Financial Officer. Webster has led finance since 2019, served as interim CFO since June 2025, and brings over 20 years of experience in biopharmaceutical financial management, reporting, audit, tax and M&A.
2. Strategic Financial Leadership
Webster is tasked with shaping NuCana’s financial strategy to support its clinical pipeline, including planning for registrational pathways. He will drive preparation and analysis for key data readouts, resource allocation and investor communications as the company advances its oncology candidates.
3. Cash Runway and Pipeline Milestones
NuCana forecasts funding into 2029, ensuring support for multiple 2026 data catalysts. The upcoming Phase 2 NuTide:701 study will evaluate NUC-7738 in combination with pembrolizumab in PD-1 inhibitor-resistant metastatic melanoma, a potential inflection point for valuation.
