NRIX•Sanofi has discontinued development of Nurix’s experimental autoimmune and inflammatory disease drug candidate SAR448272 after stopping an early-stage trial, eliminating potential future milestone payments and royalties. 1. Program discontinued
Nurix said Sanofi notified it that it would stop developing SAR448272, an oral drug candidate for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, after discontinuing an early-stage trial. Nurix does not expect future development, regulatory or commercial milestone payments, or royalties associated with the treatment.
2. Other collaboration programs
Nurix remains eligible for milestone payments and royalties from other drug candidates under its collaboration agreement with Sanofi. The companies signed the collaboration in 2019, and Sanofi expanded it in 2025 by licensing two programs targeting transcription factors for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
3. Cash and shares
Nurix reported about $1.1 billion in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities as of August 31, which it expects to fund operations into the second half of 2029. Its shares fell 38% in extended trading. CEO Arthur Sands said the news was disappointing but that Nurix remained in a strong position, citing its clinical-stage and preclinical pipeline.
