NVIDIA and 12 Telecom Leaders Pledge AI-Native, Open 6G Networks
NVIDIA and a dozen telecom leaders including Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia, SK Telecom, SoftBank and T-Mobile pledged to build 6G on AI-native, open, secure and software-defined platforms. They will embed AI across radio access networks, edge and core to enable secure integrated sensing, real-time intelligence and interoperability for next-generation wireless networks.
1. Global Industry Coalition Formed
NVIDIA has joined with a dozen leading operators and infrastructure providers—including Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia, SK Telecom, SoftBank Corp. and T-Mobile—to commit to developing 6G networks built on AI-native, open and secure software-defined platforms. This coalition aims to establish common standards and interoperable architectures to accelerate global 6G adoption.
2. Technical Vision for AI-Native Wireless
The initiative calls for embedding AI across the radio access network (RAN), edge nodes and core infrastructure to support secure integrated sensing, real-time decision-making and continuous software-driven evolution. Open, programmable platforms will enable diverse ecosystem participants to contribute innovations and ensure supply-chain resilience.
3. Strategic Implications for NVIDIA
By spearheading AI-RAN and contributing open-source software, NVIDIA positions itself at the center of next-generation wireless infrastructure, paving a path for potential new revenue streams from telecom operators. Long-term, leadership in AI-native 6G could solidify NVIDIA’s foothold in the massive connectivity market and drive ecosystem growth.
