Nvidia Drives $5 Trillion in Gains and Sees B300 Servers Hit $1M in China
Since the S&P 500’s October 12, 2022 low, Nvidia has generated roughly $5 trillion in market-cap gains—one-third of the Magnificent Seven’s total—and added $1.2 trillion since March 30. Nvidia’s B300 AI server now trades for about 7 million yuan ($1 million) in China due to tighter U.S. export restrictions.
1. Nvidia’s Dominant Bull Market Role
Nvidia didn’t lead the initial rebound after the S&P 500’s October 2022 low but has since become the primary driver of the mega-cap rally. The company’s market capitalization has increased by nearly $5 trillion—accounting for roughly one-third of the total gains among the Magnificent Seven since that trough—and added another $1.2 trillion during the latest upswing beginning March 30.
2. B300 Server Price Surge in China
In China, prices for Nvidia’s flagship B300 AI servers have nearly doubled to about 7 million yuan ($1 million) each, compared with roughly 4 million yuan late last year. This premium reflects a scarcity driven by stricter U.S. export controls and high demand from domestic technology companies, prompting some customers to explore rental agreements when outright purchases become cost-prohibitive.
