Senator Chris Coons has written to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick seeking clarification on conflicting statements about Nvidia’s H200 AI chips sold to China. Jensen Huang asserted that export approvals were secured, while the Commerce Department maintains none were shipped, raising national security and economic competitiveness concerns.

2. Award of Pentagon AI Contracts

Nvidia is one of seven technology firms awarded contracts to integrate frontier AI tools into classified Pentagon networks at IL6 and IL7 security levels. This initiative supports the Pentagon’s AI Acceleration Strategy, builds on GenAI.mil usage by over 1.3 million personnel, and diversifies the department’s supplier base.
